No... i can't trace why it happens, cause OllyDbg window got messed up every time i try to use animation with stateID above 118. Also i don't fully understand whole idea of stateID index structure, i. e. why it should be expanded? All of the other stateID slots are full (i. e. TR4 engine contains 117 state IDs) or it's hardcoded nature of each state ID (i. e. each state ID contains its own code to specify Lara's movement)?

Heya, Ive been playing the old RE games for some Inspiration and have been thinking , When your close to an object or door you press the action key, whereas in Tomb raider you have to be right next to the button or switch .
I was wondering to give a more RE feel; Could a Flip Effect that detects that the action button has been pressed on a certain square be made? - This way players wouldnt have to awkwardly align themselves next to doors or computers.... the only downside is that if the player was facing away from the desired triggerable object it would still trigger hmm However if this trigger was combined with Laras state ID's it could work when the player was facing it , for example; When Lara is in Walk Mode she will stop when she reaches an edge. So If there was a flip effect that would trigger something when the player pressed the action button at an edge it would work perfectly. Just a thought. |

I tried to modify jeep speed once, but it was too complicated...

However, i've never tried to force jeep's physics to be 2D or to deny falling into water rooms, maybe someone else can gain more success in this. |

all new patches are so cool i have one request can't u clone shotgun in crossbow slot i want shotgun as well as mp5 in my level can't u create a a patch please if you are willing just set shot amount to 1 ,disable divider, set ammo pickups to 5 and gunflash co-ordinates as same as poyu mp5 if its not possible lol can't u revive shotgunshell and gunflash for crossbow i want mp5 in it pretty please like u did for shotgun can u revive gunshell for revolver like tr3 desert eagle it had gunshell coming out cof it can't u create a patch for it also tr3 style darts patch is really cool good job, shatter sounds are also cool @pouco its possible to edit it use trviewer |

I've just designed my first sequence switch puzzle for Biohazard and I was wondering if there was a way with trep to create a YES/NO function for ingame puzzles ( eg: A picture of an old man, theres a button below, press it? >Yes >No ). Im not sure if anyone got the popup code box from tr5 working, but if that just popped up as a yes/no option that would trigger the effect or not, would be cool.

I shall except that there probabally wont be any further updates to trep and DRACO is probabally the way of the future so requesting stuff now is probabally pointless.
Although I'd love a TREP with a million options Its not me actually making it. So now that the TREP saga has chilled out, could someone create an Ollydbg patching guide ? I know parts have been explained in text but I'd really like a visual guide too. Pleeeze! |

Yes, you are absolutely right. There will be NO major updates to TREP anymore. I hope that some requests will be completed with DRACO module, but it looks like no one is interested in it except me and Heinz. Tomo is releasing his patches as executables with add-on binary file, and Paolone is acting on his own too. It's too pity that there is no collaboration in TR patching
Anyway, now TREP source code is released. Also you MUST read source code release notes. So if someone will discover some complicated options that will need complex patching (like new bar ranges, AI/item behaviour, etc.), then maybe these options can be added thru source code by someone else. But i just don't want various new TREP versions to pop up from different places, because it will complicate things even more. As for patching guide. I begun to write small guide some time ago, but realized that it's too tough job... Basically, you can learn some assembly language basics from web, as well as basic OllyDbg usage. If you need some help about certain OllyDbg in application to TR4 engine, there is "Patching manual for beginners" thread. |

This mail of yours has a melodramatic "Farewell" flavour. Reminds me of old Hollywood classics. I appreciate all you have started and done but I would not burn bridges that easy. People care more than you can imagine but not all have the skills to make patches or to do any programming or assembling at all, but nevertheless are your great fans. Just think of them all: many silent ones who don't even join in any discussion, building addicts, ... raiders, suspicious unregistered users, spammers, etc... The idea that our dear readers would start making draco modules by the dozen was a bit farfetched from the start and the low response is nothing that I would use as excuse for resignation. There are major improvements which no one has even attempted to make and which can be done ONLY BY A MASTER, and, if applied, can have mindblowing effects. You are a patching addict so don't get yourself into a situation where ideas start to flow like the waters of Volga and Don combined and you can't make a new version of TREP because you discarded the project in public! Are you willing to wait to make this update untill thousands of fans start crying in unison on all major forums or if this doesn't happen will you update your patch using a false name? In short: Why should anyone stop doing something interesting which is, by the way, in public interest? |

Heinz, there is nothing farewell-ish in publishing source codes. I didn't say that there will be no updates at all - i said that there will be no major updates, because i ran out of ideas, and some ideas that are not realized yet are out of my possibilities, desires and skills.
And stopping doing something usually happens because there is something else to do |

One could do that old-style by using several more and more transparent Lara objects (if that is possible at all) from level to level, but to use the dynamic look-transparency in-level would be much better. If that would be possible to have the grade of transparency under control, there could be crisis scenes where she 'flickers' and then get's to a more invisible state (or less, when using a 'magic item' or applying an 'antidote' for temporary more-visibility). Imagine playing TR with an almost invisible Lara. You'll need to watch the shadow to know where exactly she is. I am sure some creative mind can make something good out of it. But, if possible at all, it sounds like rewriting some code; about when, why and how transparency gets called |

It's a long time I read through this thread but I know nothing about assembler language so any comment of mine would be useless. But I have some ideas that I'll like to share with you. So here they are: - Pyuaumch, you made a brand-new checkpoint savegame system for TRLE. Couldn't you make an old-school (TR3-like) crystal savegame system? You know, pick up a crystal and use it to save wherever you want... It could be in any of those unused Pickup_Item Slots. - I'd like to have back our beloved ring-shaped inventory... I know It will take a lot of hard work and extra slots to make, but at least we have unused TR4 Slots to copy and paste those... DIARY_ITEM = could be used for the PASSPORT item PC_LOAD_INV_ITEM = could be used for the three arrows/joypad item PC_SAVE_INV_ITEM = could be used for the SOUND OPTIONS item And so on... |
